Hi, I’m Håkon Lofthus, or some may call me “Hawk” or “HKN” as that’s the aliases I’ve used for my past releases.

Productiong & Djing has always been a passionate hobby for me. Even though I’ve actually managed to release quite a few tracks and remixes on labels such as Anjunabeats, Armada, AVA, Enhanced Recordings – I don’t consider it as my profession. The most known production I’ve done is probably “Hawk – Need for Cognition” which was released on Anjunabeats and featured on BBC Radio1 Essential Mix and hammered by most of the top djs in the world. Or you might have heard my remixes of Joonas Hahmo, Under Sun, Cressida etc…

I work as a business development leader for a international online ecommerce company, and has also worked for audio software companies. So here at Innotune I can combine my two great passions: Web communication & Music.

When my good friend Øyvind Endal pitched me the idea of Innotune, I could not resist to involve myself. Some mails and meetings later with Øyvind and my friends Thomas, Marcus and Ville – Innotune suddenly was a part of my life. My contribution here will probably mostly be as a blogger, editor of the web and contributing with selections to the podcast.

1. Who got you in to EDM?

I borrowed three cds from my older sister when I was 12-13 years old. It was Orbital, The Prodigy – Experience and Daft Punk – Homework. I was hooked, and she never got them back.

2. What kind of style do you produce?

I’m most known for my prog trance productions, but lately I’ve produced more housy, melodic stuff. Anything with a good melody!

3. What kind of style do you wish you produced?

I wish I could produce stuff that could be played live as a band – a blend of electronic and acoustic.

4. What’s your favorite audio gear?

My MacBook Pro – that counts, right? It got everything I need.

5. Your most visited website?

6. Where are you, and what are you doing in 5 years?

In a office working as a marketing manager or consultant – while secretly updating innotune
