In contrast to the other blokes taking part in Innotune, I’m no hit producer. My music production has mainly been for radio, film projects and commercial use. And I have retired as a dj. But my interest in electronic music has not faded.
I’m a journalist and a sound designer who have been working with electronic music on and off since 2001. I did a EDM show on the local radio station in Gjøvik, Norway for three years till 2004, co-hosted by my old friend Håkon Lofthus. We had the honor to air exclusive guest mixes from the likes of Hybrid, The Thrillseakers, Matt Darey, Gabriel and Dresden, Danjo and Rob Styles to mention a few.
Since then I’ve been working with all kinds of radio production and sound design.
When the idea for a EDM podcast turned up Håkon was the guy I turned to. Six months later Innotune was ready for lift off with a great crew of Scandinavians!
1. Who got you in to EDM?
Norwegian dj legend Olle Abstract. I sat in my room and studied his saturday night mixes at national radio NRK P3 sometime around 1997. I just had to save up for a dj mixer!
2. What kind of style do you produce?
All flavors of electronic music, mainly downtempo.
3. What kind of style do you wish you produced?
Basement Jaxx style. Jon Hopkins style. Underworld style. Problem is I want to produce it all!
4. What’s your favorite audio gear?
My Steinberg CC121 controller. It really improves my Cubase workflow both for music and sound design!
5. Your most visited website?
Besides Twitter and Facebook, Innotune of course.
6. Where are you, and what are you doing in 5 years?
Hopefully in my studio pretty busy working with Innotune.
