As you may have noticed we have removed the MP3 feed of the podcast. The iTunes feed continues, as good as ever.
This happened after a discussion with one of our cooperating labels. From the beginning we have intended to do the Innotune podcast the right way, so we’ve asked the labels about permission for playing previews of their music in the podcast. It just turns out we have different opinions about what a podcast is.
Podcasting raise legal issues. It’s fundamentally different from the regular broadcast as the podcaster can download the file and do whatever he or she pleases with it. The move of control of the content from the broadcaster to the user, which on demand services like podcasting represents, is hard to get used to for the music business, no matter how short and distorted the music is. However, the EDM record companies has shown to been more liberal than their colleagues in the mainstream music business. We’ve gone directly to the labels in stead of negotiating a deal with any musical rights organisation. And they’ve been cool about our project. Therefore it’s very important for us to communicate in a good way with the labels.

We don’t cover hiphop, but we had to publish this cutie. After all we do write about incredible talent we stumble upon. Check out hiphoppers Dj Sara and Dj Ryusei, age five and eight. Maybe we’ll see more kids like these in the future, as a part of the Dj Hero generation.

Relation: UK synth pop.
So, everyone’s doing the 80′s nowadays. Some with melodic hints and synthy references every now and then, like Way Out West on their terrific We Love Machine album. And some adapt the complete 80′s sound. I don’t mind, I’m a sucker for 80′s synth pop.
If you are too, check out this blend of Chromeo, Depeche Mode, Human League and whatnot from the decade of high hair and shoulder pads: Relation. This is two guys from Essex, UK. They claim they make essextronica, naturally.
Try Relation at MySpace. You may also listen to Your Tiny Mind at YouTube, just be aware of the goofy music video.

I’ve seen many cool things in my life, but the Hobnox Audiotool is one of the coolest online music making experiences I’ve had so far.
Its basicly a online flash based DAW where you can wire together different kinds of audio units, effects, synths, samplers etc and create your own little online studio! Priceless when you are bored on an airport!
The thing doesn’t take much cpu (if anything??) and it’s fun and easy, just like you want it to be
It comes with various classic tools like a TB 303, ToneMatrix, a beloved 808 copy. How can you not love this little Internet gadget?
With this in mind, I only have three questions: When will Ableton be able to do the same, would it be able to be more than 1 user working it at the same time and would it be able to midi route the tools? Time will tell!
Try it HERE.

Check out Fredrik Ohr's latest album.
I’ve been a litte off lately due to my touring and after effect of that, marathon sleeping
But anyway, this is not about me, but a very talented guy from Sweden. His name is Fredrik Ohr and he is about to release his new album called “Falling through the earth” on the Aleph Zero label.
As most of us, Fredrik has a strong background from classical music, but part from that he is a genius when it comes to putting together sounds and create a sound picture. Perhaps we have a possible new hero in true electronica on the rise?
I strongly recommend you to give his new album a listen!
You can pre-listen to the album HERE.
